New Orleans

Mardi Gras Parade 2009 with SaraYou either love New Orleans or you hate it. I happen to be head-over-heels in love with the city. The ambiance, the food and oh god the music. The music is enough! There are drawbacks, but the positives drown them out. People in the crescent city work to live. It seems like everyone is ready for a party, a crawfish boil or a parade. I know what it means to miss New Orleans…

Faves:

  • Bestie Sara and her lovely self with her charming beau and her amazing condo overlooking Lee Circle
  • Dante’s Kitchen, the sweetest most yummy place in the river bend (and my former employer)
  • Tipitinas – the venue to see Galactic, Trombone Shorty, Dirty Dozen Brass Band….
  • Goldmine and dancing there until the sun comes out
  • The French Quarter and all the restaurants therein
  • Whole Foods, I know they’re everywhere but the one on Magazine happens to be the best
  • Jazz Fest, VooDoo Fest, Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween, New Years – there’s always a reason to celebrate
  • Drinking wine at lunch and going back to work, preferably commander’s
  • Le Crepe Nanou, hands down the best place to have a date with anyone

Audoubon Park, Magazine Street shopping, Gulfstream/Houston’s, Oysters, vintage jewelry, Beautiful days, beautiful people, beautiful life.
